Artist

Born in Titusville, Florida in 1964, Aprille Glover’s artwork focuses on creating environments to explore the physicality of ideas. Characteristic of her work is an intellectual edginess that challenges the audience. Glover is recognized for her mastery of the broad range of media utilized in creating her pieces. Stone, metal, clay, leaves, wax, mud, photography, wood, paper, and video are all part of her repertoire.

Since moving to France, where she lives in a cave, Glover has been sensitized to the overwhelming power of place to transform our perceptions. Her unusual living environment informs her site-specific installations, including an interactive installation for the Grand Palais in Paris and her occidental tea ceremony at the Musée Renoir, where she gave daily performances in a teahouse she both designed and constructed.
